EA buy PopCap Games for $750 million

During a visit I made to the Dublin offices of PopCap Games, I got the feeling that something was going on. Maybe that was just me being excited to be at their office, but maybe they actually knew that EA was about to buy the company for $750 million.
Nevertheless, it was reported nearly three weeks ago now that PopCap may be getting bought by a big company and it has been revealed today that the big company was Electronic Arts.
EA CEO John Riccitelo had this to say:
EA and PopCap are a compelling combination. PopCap’s great studio talent and powerful IP add to EA’s momentum and accelerate our drive towards a $1 billion digital business. EA’s global studio and publishing network will help PopCap rapidly expand their business to more digital devices, more countries, and more channels.
PopCap are the developers behind the classic game Bejewelled along with Plants vs Zombies, Peggle and many more.
